Back to the Drawing Board

Working on a really fun project for The Preserve at Fenwick Plantation. It's a nature coloring book! Yep, that's right. I was able to take a break from the computer today and put the pen to paper and do some sketching.

Here are a couple sketches that will be making an appearance in the coloring book.

#1 Assistant

We finished up the photoshoot for LESESNE this past week. Jason Stemple took some great shots! These photos will be used in their new website that is in the development stage, as well as other collateral and advertising in the future.

The last day of shooting we had a very special helper. My daughter got to assist Jason as we shot Bryte Van Dalen in the LESESNE store on Upper King. She had so much fun and we got a great shot! Here is a picture of Merritt the photography assistant and the picture we took of Bryte.

New Ad for Porsche Dealership

We got super creative with this one. Definitely not your same ole car ad. Working together with Momentum Marketing and their client Porsche of North Houston, we created a truly unique brand and ad campaign.

Porsche of North Houston is one of ONLY 25 Premier Porsche Dealerships in the country and the only one in Houston, TX. They have a new owner who has a real passion for all things Porsche, and that is what sparked this new creative. Porsche of North Houston has "Redefined the Porsche Experience"... so, why not create a new word and define it in a dictionary! Check out the fun spin we put on this one. Here is a new ad that will be popping up in a couple automotive publications (including Sports Car Market Magazine in April).

We are also working on a couple other things for PNH, including their business cards, a brand new website and an exciting new spread ad that will be going in Houston Magazine.

So if you're in the market for a Porsche head over to Porsche of North Houston in Houston, TX. They really are experts in all things Porsche.

Let's clean it up!

Kit Creative Marketing is excited to be working with a new client, Niddy Griddy Cleaning Service. They are a locally owned and operated full service cleaning company that specialize in residential and commercial.

We had a lot of fun creating their brand. When they came to us they already had a great tagline to work with... "Women helping women have a life!" We took that and ran with it. We went for something girlie and clean. What's more girlie than pink and what says clean more than soapy bubbles. We have created a new logo for them along with a new business card, and brand new mini website.

Below is their new logo. We will post bcard pics soon. They are going to do a fun print technique that will really make the bubbles come to life.

So if your home or office is dirty or just a little messy, call the Niddy Griddy girls!

KCM is expanding ... well sort of.

I am excited to announce that Kit Creative Marketing is expanding ... well sort of. Kit Creative Marketing now has a sister company, KMK Web

Running an ad agency for the last 9 months I have seen a huge need for quality web services at affordable prices. It is more important than ever for companies to have a strong web presence to be successful, but the cost can be intimidating. Along with the high cost, there is the concern that you will have no control over your own content for simple changes.

The solution ... KMK Web! KMK is affordable and has a content management system (CMS) that puts clients in charge of their own content.

Can You Draw?

This past Sunday I went down to the Circular Congregational Church on Meeting Street for their 10:15 service. I went because the night before there was a visual arts show called "...she shall be called Woman" that depicted women in religion. Sundays service was going to stay on that same topic and the artwork would still be displayed in the sanctuary. Basically I had a second chance to see what I missed Saturday night.

It was quite enjoyable and there were some stunning pieces. My favorite was a piece called "Apple Thief" by Fletcher Crossman. As stunning and emotional as the artwork was, what really moved me that morning was a message intended for the children.

All the children were asked to come to the front of the church. Then a question was asked to the adults of the congregation. "Raise your hand if you can draw." I lifted my hand in the air but I was one of only about 10 adults that raised their hand out of a group of about 150+ people. Then the children were asked the same question. Every single one of the children raised their hand high in the air.

As we get older why do we lose that mentality of "I can do anything" ..... "I can be anything". The message to the children was Never Stop Drawing! Who cares if someone says you aren't good. Who are they to say. If you love it, just do it, and don't worry about what other people think.

So, I'm pulling my easel out of the attic and it is time to draw again....join me!

(Here is a charcoal I did of my dog about 6 years ago and this was probably the last time I sketched anything.)

A Trio of Artists

If you haven't popped into the most happenin' art gallery on Broad Street, I think it's time you did. Just follow the frog at the front door. Hamlet Art Gallery is located at 7 Broad Street (near E. Bay). Three lovely ladies have their artwork displayed there and they just so happen to be one big happy family ... a mother and her two daughters.

I had the pleasure of producing an ad for the Hamlet Art Gallery for the Spring 09 issue of ART: A Guide to Charleston's Art Scene. Pick it up and you can read the article on the Hamlet Trio on page 40 and catch their ad on page 47.
